I am thinking that yard sales are not worth all the hard work and effort you have to put in to them. I just spent the last week preparing for a sale then setting it up only to have it rain.
For the past few years I have just sold things on Criagslist and Ebay. It has been several years since I had a yard sale and man I forgot how time consuming and tiring it can be out.
Then there's the sorting, the pricing, the organizing, signs, making sure it does not rain, not to mention getting up at the crack of dawn!
I think I am just sticking with the list and Ebay. Much simpler, less time and much easier. Then you can actually get a bit more for your items on the list and Ebay.
Just my little rant for today.

Are Yard Sales Really Worth The Trouble?

Although I love going to yard sales, dang it if I ever hold one again! Too much work...I prefer eBay, where I'm a Power Seller now! It's hard work too, but the exposure you get is so much greater!
Oh I hear ya. With my kids being little I first think, "Hm - I know kids' stuff sells well." Then think, "No way!" Too much time for too little return. I really think you're better off donating the stuff to charity and taking the tax donation.
I know I love to go to them but no more will I give them.
Cindi you are so right about exposure many more chances to sell your item.
Colleen,
After today I am in total agreement. I have a 4.5 and 1 yr old and never again.
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting.
I asked myself the same question. It does not seem worth all the work. Actually I am sitting here now with tons of toys, clothes, and books that are in like new condition. I would like to get a little something for them but I do not want to do all that work by myself. That happened last time.
omg - you're not kidding - it IS a lot of work! But we usually do alright on yard sales - and pulled in $600 on the last one.
Alas - we need to get ready for another one soon... can you believe the kids LOVE doing garage sales?
My 7 year old sets up shop and sells donuts for a quarter apiece - lol
I think maybe next time I just need to recruit some help. Trying to do it in between a 4.5 and one yr old is rough when I work full-time plus normal daily grind.
But if it is done right I know there is money to be made in it.
When they are old enough I know my boys will love setting up shop as well.
Thanks so much for dropping by and commenting.
